The movie begins in the backyard of the Corleone family, at the wedding of Connie Corleone to Carlo Rizzi. Next, Sollozzo wants to expand his narcotics smuggling with the help of the Corleone family. Vito Corleone is skeptical, and sends his friend and bodyguard Luca Brazi to investigate Sollozzo. Luca is murdered, and Vito is attacked, but survives and is hospitalized. The movie follows Michael view. Michael vowed to stay out of the family business. However, when Captain McCluskey approaches Vito, Michael protects his father. He then kills Sollozzo and McCluskey and escapes to Sicily. When Michael returns, he marries his old sweetheart, Kay Adams, and becomes the head of the Corleone family. He moves the family to Las Vegas to legitimize the family. As he leaves, however, in a service where Michael becomes the godfather of his nephew, he has the rival mafia bosses in New York City killed, becoming the Mafia boss of the city. |
